What does this do to or environment?

As relaxing as they are, bubble baths, have significant negative effects on the environment. Dioxane, a chemical found in bubble baths is a carcinogenic, endocrine disruptive chemical that contaminates many cosmetic ingredients, including polyethylene glycols, sodium laureth sulfate and siloxane, during the manufacturing process. This negatively affects aquatic ecosystems and stunts the growth of sea creatures.

What is the Alternative?

  • Shiny, sweet-scented coconut oil. Just add a few drops, and it does it all.

  • When making bubble bath, it is important to use a glycerin-soap mixture because it’s the combo that creates a bubbly bath. Glycerin is a natural humectant, and soapy water combined with it makes a sudsy bath. You can even add one tablespoon of dried lavender flowers to your bath for an herbal bath experience you will love! Feel free to use any herb you prefer instead of lavender: rose petals, chamomile, calendula, or green tea would all be excellent!
